AN/AQS-24C Mine Hunting Sonar System Test Detachment, 01-28Jun18

U.S. Navy MH-53E "Sea Dragon" helicopters assigned to Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron Fifteen "Blackhawks" support a test detachment for the AN/AQS-24C Mine Hunting Sonar System aboard Naval Support Activity Panama City (KNBV) from June 1-28, 2018. The AN/AQS-24C Airborne Mine Hunting Sonar System integrates Autonomous Topographic Large Area Survey (ATLAS) volume search mine hunting sonar, developed by the Applied Research Laboratories at the University of Texas, Austin, into the existing AN/AQS-24B System. In addition, Intermediate Level Test Equipment (ILTE) and Common Post Mission Analysis (CPMA) workstations were upgraded to ensure compatibility with the AN/AQS-24C configuration.
